Job Description

In order to receive an application for medical staff appointment and be eligible to apply for clinical privileges in gastroenterology at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center, a potential applicant must satisfy all of the following threshold criteria:


Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited* postgraduate residency program in internal medicine PLUS completion of a fellowship in gastroenterology approved by the American College of Physicians.

(*prefer EUS fellowship training)


Certification: Certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine; + or completion of the requirements for an application for certification in gastroenterology  to be accepted by the board. Board certification must be obtained within 5 years of the candidate's completion of the requirements.


Description: The candidate must satisfy the minimum number of procedures established by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for each endoscopy procedure for which the candidate intends to request privileges.

For candidates for whom there is more than a six-month time lapse between completion of a residency program and the request for application, evidence should be provided that the candidate has maintained an active gastroenterology practice during the last 24 months.
