Job Description

Responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for all phases of food selection, preparation and presentation for the Food Service Department. Coordinate duties of the department's staff and direct the preparation of meals and special event planning. Other responsibilites include: menu development, product selection, inventory management, ordering/purchasing, financial management/budgeting, training and personnel management to include hiring, counseling and developing. Adheres to HACCP guidelines to ensure efficient, safe and sanitary food production, preparation and presentation.

Education: Associate Degree: Culinary Arts or related field

Experience Required: >5 Years

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

  • Five years of experience in culinary/kitchen management and operations

  • Experience in fine dining or gourmet food preparation

  • Experience in therapeutic cooking is desirable, but not mandatory

  • Ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language

  • Flexibility in achieving positive results, which require a variety of hours and duties

  • Must be detail and service oriented
