Food Service Aide Lead

POSITION PURPOSE
-
The Lead Food Service Aide assists the Director, Manager and Coordinator in organizing the day-to-day operations of the service area for which he/she is responsible. Responsible for training and development of staff. Monitors performance of staff. Performs all functions in the area of responsibility. Fills in for the Director, Manager and/or Coordinator in his/her absence and performs the duties of the Food Service employee when necessary.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Safety/ Sanitation Certificate preferred within six (6) months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
-
One to three (1-3) years of experience in Food Service or a related field.

Ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language.

Ability to operate large and small food service equipment such as: ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, urns, mixers, blenders, braising pans, stem kettles, etc.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Organizes, trains and monitors employee performance.

Assists with product inventory and ordering.
-
Pushing and pulling carts and manipulating the contents of the cart. Estimated force to move the cart is 40 pounds.

Manual dexterity and sanitary handling of food and utensils in food preparation is required.

Assist with employee scheduling.
