Physician Informatics Specialist
Froedtert South

POSITION PURPOSE
- Responsible for training and support of the Epic applications and related systems, with a primary focus on physicians and advanced practice providers. Collaborates with system analysts, operational departments and clinicians to design appropriate Epic workflows. Designs and executes ongoing training programs for orientation and system changes/updates.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
- High School or GED
- MA, LPN, RN or other health related field equivalent. Preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 1 to 3 years of hospital or physician clinic experience
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Becomes an Epic credentialed trainer within 12 months
SUPERVISES
- N/A
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Strong customer service and verbal, written and interpersonal communicational skills
- Should be self-directed, have excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Knowledgeable in clinical and Epic software applications
- Demonstrate knowledge of educational concepts and adult learner
- Must be able to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language
- Excellent computer skills
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Delivers instructor-led training sessions to physicians and advanced practice providers and office staff.
- Designs and executes ongoing training plans, materials and practice exercises for physicians, allied health professionals and office staff for orientation and system changes/upgrades.
- Develop appropriate training materials for physicians and advanced practice providers.
- Engaged in activities of analysis, design and implementation , optimization as well as application support; performs troubleshooting and conveys issue resolution.
- Functions as subject matter expert for area of concentration in Epic.
- Functions as an analyst by performing integrated testing, TDR and downtime workflows.
- Answers help desk calls and triages or resolved as appropriate.
- Liaison between the Medical Staff office, Medical Records, physician office staff and Information Services
- Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot and isolate complex problems to enhance system functionality.
