- POSITION PURPOSE
- Duties consist of optimizing the safety, effectiveness and economy of electronic, electrical and mechanical and virtual diagnostic imaging equipment used for patient care
Position also includes review of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices and in-servicing others on supported equipment.

- MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Associate Degree: Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent certification

- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 1 to 3 years

- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Training to include physics, chemistry, electronics, computer hardware, networking, anatomy and physiology
Equivalent military training or four year degree as comparable. - One-year experience with a diagnostic imaging modality in a medical or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear, and comprehend the English language.
- Formal diagnostic imaging equipment repair training preferred.
- Ability to read computer schematic and wiring diagrams.

- PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Repair and preventive maintenance of diagnostic imaging, biomedical, and electronic equipment on a routine basis.
- Maintain medical system networks on various compute platforms.
- Comprehend DICOM conformance statements and PACS systems.
- Read and comprehend schematic diagrams and service manuals written in English.
- Lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds about the head with arms fully extended.
- Provides in-service training for equipment users and associated staff.
- Documents repair and maintenance activities on work orders and in appropriate equipment history locations.
