IS Intern

POSITION PURPOSE

• Under the direction of the Director of Information Services, performs setup, configuration, installation, and support functions for PCs, printers and telephones. Installs and troubleshoots various software applications as needed. Assists the Network Engineer in the set up, testing and installation of new systems/applications. Documents and resolves all assigned HelpDesk requests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Associate Degree: Computer Operations or equivalent work experience

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 1 to 3 years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

• One to three (1-3) years of experience in computing concepts and networking.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English in order to establish a working relationship with end users and interpret manuals.
• Familiar with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; Internet.
• At least one (1) year of work experience that demonstrates the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
• Ability to organize, analyze, problem-solve, and educate
• Ability to learn various software applications

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Performs setup, configuration, installation, and support functions for PCs, printers and telephones.
2. Provides exemplary customer service to all users.
3. Documents and resolves all assigned HelpDesk requests in appropriate time frame.
4. Assists the Network Engineer in the set up, testing and installation of new systems/applications.
5. Facilitates add/move/changes to IT equipment.
6. Ability to take remote control of individual computer desktops.
