Ultrasound Tech Intern
The Ultrasound Intern is under the direction of a Ultrasound Technologist who assists the Ultrasound Technologist with direct and indirect clerical and patient care responsibilities involved in the performance of Ultrasound procedures.
Education Required:
Actively enrolled in an accredited Ultrasound program. Minimum of one semester formal Ultrasound education that includes at least one semester of clinical Ultrasound experience. Prefer applicant in final year of clinicals.
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire.
Must maintain an overall 2.5 GPA.
Experience Required:
0-2 years
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Effective interpersonal skills (i.e.) friendly, cordial, empathetic, good listener).
Excellent communication skills. Ability to read, write speak and comprehend the English language. Ability to speak clearly and give basic instruction/directions to patients and other customers
Ability to use oxygen equipment.
Ability to correctly use patient lifting and transport devices.
Performs Ultrasound procedures once competencies are verified by clinical coordinator.
