Job Description

  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • A Radiology Department Assistant-Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for maintaining information flow in Radiology Pre-Certification process for all contracted managed care health plans.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • High School or Equivalent (GED)
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • 6 Months - 1 Year

  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • A college education or one to two (1-2) years of previous relevant experience preferred.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
    • Knowledge of telephone etiquette, computer systems- programs and applications and office machines.
    • Knowledge of health care insurance practices and compliance.
    • Willingness to perform any other duties relating to the business operation of the Radiology Department that may be assigned.
  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Receives and processes information to facilitate customer requests demonstrating Froedtert South values in all interactions.
    • Pre-Certification functions- Monitors patient’s eligibility and pre-certification status with insurance plans.
    • Performs business functions to support positive financial outcomes(s) regarding insurance eligibility and pre-certification studies and other studies as assigned.
    • Attend in-services/meetings to maintain level of expertise. #cb
